INSIDE THE VMM - July 2020/Episode 3 "The United States Merchant Marine"

This month, we are very pleased to highlight one of our newest displays at the VMM...The U.S. Merchant Marine. This collection was created by Ellisville native Gurden Johnson, Jr. during his 7 years of service in the USMM (during WWII and after). Upon his passing in 2018, his wife Jane graciously donated the collection to the VMM in honor of her husband and to share the story of the "Forgotten Service". 

We are also very pleased to announce that the VMM has reopened, albeit with a very limited operating schedule and strict rules for operation due to the COVID-19 virus. Everyone is invited to drop in and see this impressive collection in person, as well as the many other artifacts and collections that we have on display.
