WE REMEMBER
Though they do not carry weapons, chaplains have always been part of the fight—standing with service members in combat zones, comforting the wounded, and helping soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines find strength in moments of fear, grief, and doubt.
From the frozen trenches of World War I to the dense jungles of Vietnam, from the beaches of Normandy to the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan, chaplains have been there. They have stood in foxholes, prayed over the wounded, counseled the weary, and carried the weight of many invisible burdens.Their mission has always been about serving those who serve.
You stood where few would dare, not to take life, but to preserve the soul. For every hand held in fear, every prayer spoken in the din of chaos, every moment of compassion where there seemed to be none left, we remember you.
