ABOVE AND BEYOND

From the open-cockpit biplanes of World War I to the advanced aircraft of today, combat aviators have continually answered the call to go where few dare—to rise above the battlefield, and to go above and beyond in defense of freedom.

But no one flies alone. Behind every mission, there is a team—on the ground and at home. Skilled technicians, tireless support crews, and the families who wait through long nights and longer deployments. They, too, carry the mission. They, too, go above and beyond. 

Today, we honor all who have served. We remember those who gave everything. And we recognize those who continue to lift their communities in service to something greater than themselves.

To those who have flown into harm’s way, to those who have stood by their side, and to those who helped bring this day to life—thank you.
